INDUSTRIAL POLLUTION IN INDIA



Meaning of Industrial Pollution:


1) The negative and harmful outcomes of industrialization is industrial pollution. 

2) Industrial pollution is generally referred to the undesirable outcome when factories emits harmful by products and waste into the environment such as emissions to air or water bodies,deposition on landfills etc. or emission of toxic chemicals into the atmosphere.

3) Industries such as sewage treatment plants, power plants, mills, heating plants, processing and manufacturing companies release smoke and effluents, material wastes, toxic by products and poisonous gases, like nitrous oxide, sulphur dioxide, chlorine, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, particulate matter, smoke, fly ash, organic wastes and hot water released from thermal power plants cause adverse impact on health and environment. 
4) Any form pollution whose source can be traced to industrial activities is termed as industrial pollution.
